RUMS #20: Punkteshirt / Dotty top

Heute kann ich auch mal wieder was Genähtes zeigen. Mein zweites selbstgenähtes Shirt ist fertig (ja, ich zähle sie noch). Der Stoff ist traumhaft weich, die Punkte schön rot - ich mag's. Diesmal habe ich mich auch an die Säume getraut. Leider schlagen sie unten etwas um (also, wenn ich da einen Tipp habt, bin ich ganz dankbar). Das Bild ist nicht optimal, aber mein Mann macht gerade die Wäsche und da hat er keine Ruhe.

Today I can show something I have sown. It's my second selfmade top (yes, I'm still counting them). The fabric is really soft, the dots have a nice red - I like it. This time I dared to sew some seams. The ones at the bottom sometimes turn outside which isn't really nice (if you have an idea of how to change this I would be happy to read it). The photo is not brilliant but my husband was doing the laundry so he did not have the time really.

Für die Kinder / For the children

Heute habe ich für meine Kinder T-Shirts verschönert. Meine Tochter hatte sich das Eulenmotiv ausgesucht und mein Sohn den Doppeldeckerbus. Das Bügeln geht wirklich gut, jetzt bin ich gespannt, wie lange das hält.

Today I improved T-shirts for my children. My daughter chose the owl and my son the London double decker bus. The ironing was easy enough, now I am curious how long it will stay on the T-shirts.

Mein neues Projekt / My new project

Richtige Luxuswolle habe ich mir gekauft, um mein nächstes Projekt zu verwirklichen. Es handelt sich um einen Teststrick für Janukke. Ihre Anleitungen haben sich bewährt, da kann ich auch teurere Materialien verarbeiten. Das ist die Soft Silk aus 100% Bourette-Seide von BC Garn. Sie hat einen ganz tollen Griff, ist recht elastisch und natürlich ganz weich.

I bought some really luxiourious yarn to realise my next project. It is testknitting for Janukke. Her patterns are definitely working out thus I can buy some more expensive yarn for it. This is Soft Silk made from 100% silk by BC Garn. It feels very nice on the skin, it is quite elastic and very soft, of course.

Voller Stolz / I proudly present

... zeige ich Euch heute mein erstes selbstgenähtes Top! Ich bin echt ganz zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis, wenn bestimmt auch reichlich Kleinigkeiten und bestimmt auch Großigkeiten zu verbessern sind. Aber es ist mein erstes Eigenes. Ich habe gut 4,5 Stunden gebraucht und mir dabei die Ruhe angetan. Um die Säume am Ärmel und am Körper habe ich mich gedrückt, weil der Stoff sich so schön einrollt . ;-) Dann kann ich mich bald an die Punkte wagen!

... my first self-made top! I am really quite happy with the result even if there is still room for improvement left. It is the first top I made by myself. It took about 4 and a half hours - I had decided to take it slowly. I did not sew the seams along the hem because the fabric rolls so nicely. ;-) Now I can do the gorgeous dots!

Ein bisschen Mut / It takes some courage

... gehört schon dazu: Am langen Wochenende möchte ich einen Teil meiner freien Zeit aufs Nähen verwenden. Es stehen noch Loops auf meiner Nähliste und heute habe ich mich mit Material für mein erstes Oberteil eingedeckt. Es soll ein längärmeliger Pulli werden. Als Schnitt habe ich mir Emely von Mioumiou ausgesucht. Später habe ich mir dann überlegt, dass ich das Teil erst aus einfarbigem Stoff nähe, bevor ich mich an den Stoff mit dem schönen Punktemuster wage. Also habe ich noch mehr Stoff gekauft. Ich werde berichten. Bitte drückt mir die Daumen.

Zum Üben - for practice

... to sew: Due to the bank holiday and an additional day off work on Friday I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend. I am planning to use some of that time for sewing. There are still some loop scarves on my to do-list and today I bought some fabric for a top. I'd like to make a long-sleeved top. I decided to use the cut Emely by Mioumiou. Thinking about it later I realised that it might be a good idea to sew the top with plain fabric first before trying the fabric with the nice dotty pattern. That's why I bought more fabric. I'll tell you how it went. Keep your fingers crossed, please.

Das erste Mal / For the first time

Heute, an einem frühsommerlichen Sonntag, habe ich meinen ersten selbstgenähten Rock zum ersten Mal angehabt - und ich sage euch, ich habe gezittert, ob er nicht vielleicht abfällt, eine Naht platzt oder sowas. Aber: Nein, es ist alles gut gegangen, ich habe mich in jedem Schaufenster bewundert und fühle mich echt wohl. Im Kleiderschrank habe ich sogar noch ein passendes Blüschen gefunden. Hoffentlich habe ich bald Zeit den nächsten Rock zu nähen.

Today, on a beautiful summerlike Sunday, was the day to wear my first self-made skirt - and I was frightened that it would fall apart or that a seam would burst or the like. But: Nothing happened - it all went well. I admired myself in every shop window and was feeling great. I even found a nice white blouse to go with the skirt. Hopefully I'll have time to sew the next one soon.

Bei einem Ausflug in den Dortmunder Zoo entdeckte ich meine nächste Strickjacke für den Winter - leider hatte ich nicht das passende Werkzeug dabei.

Visiting the zoo in Dortmund I saw my cardigan for the coming winter - unfortunately I did not have any suitable tool on me.
