Socken zum Verschenken / Socks to give away

Das spontanste und schnellste Weihnachtsgeschenk habe ich noch gar nicht gezeigt. Es waren Socken für die Schwiegermutter, die ich innerhalb von 5 Tagen noch schnell gestrickt habe. Gerade plane ich eine Übersicht aller meiner angefangenen Strickstücke zu erstellen, damit ich die mal endlich alle fertigstricke. Gleichzeitig dachte ich mir, dass ich dabei mal die Wolle sortieren könnte. Mal sehen, ich muss im Arbeitszimmer anfangen und dort lagert keine wenig Wolle.

I have not shown you my most spontaneous and fastest Christmas present. I made some socks for my mother-in-law within 5 days. At the moment I planning to make a list of all my unfinished objects in order to finish them. I thought that this might be a nice occasion to sort through all my yarn. We'll see I need to start tidying in my study and I don't keep any a lot of yarn there.

Gewinne / Prizes

Manchmal habe sogar ich Glück und gewinne etwas. Wir hatten in der Tausendschön-Gruppe auf ravelry parallel zur EM einen Strickevent. Ich habe beim Tippspiel und den Stickkilometern gewonnen. Einmal durfte ich mir eine Anleitung aussuchen. Ich habe mich für Edie von Isabell Kraemer entschieden. Der zweite Gewinn war ein Knäuel Wolle von Opal. Es gefällt mir sehr gut. Vielen Dank an die Spenderinnen.

Sometimes even I am lucky and win something. We had a knitting competition in the Tausendschön-Gruppe Group on ravelry and I won in two categories. I was given a pattern of my choice - Edie by Isabell Kraemer. I also won a skein of yarn by Zwerger. Thank you, dear donators.

Ein warmes Tuch / A warm scarf

Passend zum Wetter habe ich mir ein Tuch gestrickt - grins, nein, so schlimm ist es doch nicht. Dieses Tuch soll gespendet werden. Es reist nach Weißrussland, um dort einem Kind den Hals zu wärmen. Ich unterstütze gerne Projekt für Menschen, denen es schlechter geht als mir - im In- und Ausland. Diesmal ist eine Schule in Belarus dran. Ich bin mir sicher, dass es dort gut aufgehoben ist und hoffe, dass es einem Kind im Alltag hilft und vielleicht auch noch gefällt. To accomodate to the weather it was necessary to knit a scarf - joke, no, it's not that bad really. This scarf will be given away to charity. It will be travelling to Belarus to warm a child's neck. I love to support projects for people who are worse off than me - both in Germany and abroad. This time it's going to a school in Belarus. I am sure that it will be of good use there. RUMS 2#16

Ich habe es geschafft und innerhalb von 7 Tagen ein Paar Socken gestrickt! Diese Socken machen mich richtig glücklich - als Notwolle gekauft und jetzt sind sie heiß geliebt. Das gefällt mir und passt in meine positive Stimmung, die ich gerade trotz Stress und so habe, weil ich es einfach entspannt und bewusst angehen lasse. Lieder sieht das Wetter gerade nicht danach aus als würde es noch einen Regenbogen geben.

I managed to knit a pair of socks within 7 days! These socks really make me happy - bought as an emergency and now I like them so much! I am enjoying this moment and it really fits my positive attitude that I have despite all the stress and such like because I try to be easy and concentrate on each moment. Unfortunately the weather does not look like there is going to be a rainbow.

Regenbogen an den Füßen / Rainbow on my feet

Noch nicht ganz, aber bald. Am Freitag war ich zu einem Doppel-Geburtstag eingeladen und hatte leider mein Strickzeug vergessen. Zum Glück war ich noch im Wollgeschäft, um Geschenke zu kaufen und so habe ich mir ein Notfall-Set gekauft: Sockenwolle und Nadelspiel. Da die Wolle so schön ist, hatte ich die erste Socke innerhalb von 24 Stunden gestrickt. Die zweite wird arbeitsbedingt etwas länger dauern.

Not quite but very soon. I was invited to a double birthday party on Friday and had left my knitting at home. Luckily I was in a yarn store to buy some presents and so I bought an emergency set containing of sock yarn and double pointed needles. As the yarn is so beautiful I managed to finish the first sock within 24 hours. The second one will take a little longer because of work.

In dieser Woche möchte ich aus diesem Knäuel ein Paar Socken für ein Hilfsprojekt stricken. Ich überlege noch, ob ich ein Muster stricken möchte. Vielleicht ist das zu viel mit der Wolle. Leute, ich muss, hier ist noch so viel zu tun ...

Export Sniffer

Ich war im April im Urlaub, das habt ihr sicher gemerkt. Heute Nachmittag werde ich nach Spanien fliegen - zum Gegenbesuch zu unserer Partnerschule in der Nähe von Barcelona. Dort habe ich zwei Gastkinder im Grundschulalter. Als Mitbringsel habe ich zwei Schnüffler gestrickt. Ich hoffe, dass sie Gefallen finden. Sonst nehme ich sie einfach wieder mit, denn ich finde sie ganz süß ;-) Wir lesen uns nächste Woche wieder ...

I have been on holiday during April as I am sure you have realised. This afternoon I am flying to Spain - to visit our partner school in the Barcelona area. I will stay with a family with two primary school children. I made two sniffers for them. Hopefully they will like them. If not I will bring them back with me as I find them quite cute ;-). We'll read each other some time next week ...

RUMS 3#15

Heute möchte ich euch mein fertiges Strickkleid zeigen. Die Farbe habe ich passend zu meinen Winterstiefeln gewählt. Die Wollkombination aus Sockenwolle und Mohair hält echt schön warm und macht ein Kleid auch im Winter möglich. Um sicher zu gehen, dass ich mit der Wolle auskomme, habe ich reichlich Garn bestellt und nun möchte meine Tochter auch noch so ein Kleid. Na, ich denke, den Stil werde ich etwas ändern, ist ja noch jung, die Dame.

Today I would like to show you my finished knitted dress. I chose the colour to match my winter boots. The combination of yarns - sock yarn and mohair - is really very warm and makes it possible to wear a dress in winter. To make sure that I had enough yarn I bought plenty of it and now my daughter wants a dress made from the leftover yarn. Well, I think I will change the style a little, she is still a young lady.

RUMS#7/14: Z w i e b e l s ö c k c h e n / Onion Socks

Heute bin ich mit ganz einfachen Socken dabei, die dank des KALs in der Ravelry-Opal-Gruppe nun fertig geworden sind. Angeschlagen habe ich sie im Flugzeug auf dem Weg nach Catania und mit nach Deutschland sind sie gekommen, weil ich sie aus Intuition vor dem Einchecken auf Sizilien in den Koffer gepackt habe. Bei der Kontrolle des Handgepäck haben es die Italiener dann auch ganz genau genommen. Warum ich jetzt so lange gewartet habe mit dem Fertigstricken, weiß ich gar nicht. Dafür hatte ich sie heute direkt an.

Today I am showing a pair of simple socks that have been finished because of a KAL in the ravelry group Opal (for Zwerger yarns). I started knitting them on the plane from Dusseldorf to Catania. I was able to bring them back to Germany because intuition told me to put them in my suitcase before checking in on Sicily. The Italian were very strict when controlling the handbags. Why it took so long to finish them is a mystery to me. But I am wearing them today.

Ja! Nur bei dem Wetter ist es mit dem Fotografieren so eine Sache. Fertig geworden sind einfache Fäustlinge für meine Tochter in ihren Lieblingsfarben lila, rosa und orange. Ansonsten stricke ich gerade an einem Tuch mit aufwändigem Lacerand und einem Pulli für mich. Das dauert halt ein bisschen länger.

Yes! But it is difficult to take photographs in such weather. I finished some mitts for my daughter in her favourite colours purple, pink and orange. Apart from that I am working on a scarf with a lace border and a jumper for myself. This takes a while.

Neue Socken / New socks

Endlich habe ich meine Socken fertig, die ich Ostern angefangen habe. Doch mit dem Teststrick und dem WIPs abarbeiten dauert das länger als ich das gerne hätte. Leider ist die Strickzeit begrenzt.

I finally managed to finish the socks that I started over Easter. But testknitting and finishing all my WIPs takes more time than I thought it would. Unfortunately my time for knitting is not endless.

Zukunftssocken / Future Socks

Diese Socken habe ihren Namen von der Wolle, denn diese Färbung heißt "Imagine Tomorrow's World". Also dachte ich mir, das sind die Socken für den nächsten Herbst! Wenn ich so nach draußen und auf die schönen Socken gucke, vermute ich, dass ich sie doch vorher nochmal anziehen werde, denn ich finde sie so schön!

These socks were given their name because the colourway is called "Imagine Tomorrow's World". So I thought that these are for the autumn to come. But looking outside and looking at the socks, I believe that I will wear them before as I like them so much!

Glitzersocken / Glittery socks

So, da bin ich zum zweiten Mal heute. Ich möchte jetzt das Versprechen dieser Seite einhalten und mein erstes Strickstück zeigen. Es handelt sich um Socken in Größe 30/31, gestrickt aus Opal Hundertwasser Silver. Das Muster ist von Wolletraum und heißt 4x HexHex. Ich habe es auf nur einer Nadel gestrickt. Deshalb gibt es nur einen Ausschnitt des schönen Musters. Es strickt sich super und macht echt was her.

Well, two posts on the same day. I want to keep the promise of this page and show my first finished object (it's not really my first but the first one here). Here you can see glittery socks in size 30/31, knitted from Opal Hundertwasser Silver. The pattern is by Wolletraum called 4x HexHex. I only knitted the pattern on one needle. This is why I only show you a detail of the lovely pattern. It easy to knit and really looks brilliant.
