Achtung Monster / Caution monsters

Heute habe ich aufs Walking verzichtet, um mich endlich auszukurieren. So habe ich Zeit gewonnen, die ich ins Nähen investiert habe. Ich liebe den Freitag ja, weil ich den Nachmittag einfach selbst gestalten kann und meine Arbeit von Freitag Nachmittag auf Samstag Morgen schiebe. Das klappt meistens sehr gut. Diesen Stoff habe ich schon lange hier liegen, um daraus etwas für meinen jüngeren Sohn zu nähen. Er hat sich ein T-Shirt gewünscht. Nun ist es fertig und er freut sich schon darauf, es morgen anzuziehen. Nun gehe ich noch eine Runde stricken und freue mich auf eine ordentliche Portion Schlaf.

Today I took a break from walking to get rid of the flu completely. So I gained some time that I invested in sewing. I love Fridays as I can decide how to spend the afternoons and do my Friday afternoon work on Saturday mornings. This usually works really well. I have had this fabric for quite a while in order to make something for my younger son. He asked for a T-Shirt. Here it is and he is looking forward to wearing it tomorrow. Now I am going to sit on my sofa and knit and I am looking forward to a good night's sleep.

Kuscheltuch / Soft scarf

Hatte ich mal erwähnt, dass ich im letzten Jahr einige Projekte nicht beendet habe? In diesem Jahr bin ich dabei dies zu ändern. Dank eines kranken Wochenendes lief es gerade wirklich gut. Außer den Sarabia-Socken aus dem letzten Post habe ich noch ein Tuch fertig gestrickt. Es fing mit einem geheimen Teststrick für Jana an, der schon letztes Jahr im März stattfand. Als das Tuch als Mystery-KAL gestrickt wurde, musste ich unbedingt noch einmal mitstricken, aber mit Mohair-Garn. Dies ist das weiche, fluffige Ergebnis, mit dem ich sehr zufrieden bin. Warum das jetzt so lange gedauert hat, weiß ich gar nicht mehr. Aber ich freue mich, dass es jetzt fertig ist. Da es morgen noch einmal kälter werden soll, überlege ich, es noch einmal vor dem Frühling zu tragen.

I don't know if I have mentioned that somehow I have not finished all my projects last year? This year I am about to change this. As I was ill over the weekend I managed to knit quite a bit. Apart from the Sarabia-Socks shown in my last post I added the light blue edge to this scarf. It all started with a secret test knit for Jana in March last year. When the scarf was being knit as a mystery KAL I simply had to make another one but with different yarn. So I chose a mohair-silk blend. This is the soft and fluffy result which I like very much. I don't really know why it took so long to finish it. But I am so happy to have it now. As the weatherforecast said that it might get colder tomorrow I am pondering whether to wear it.

Sarabia

So heißt die Februar-Färbung von Tausendschön. Die Socken wärmen mir heute schon den ganzen Tag die Füße. Der Rest geht in den Korb und wird für die Häkeldecke verwendet, die schon erstaunlich groß ist. Davon nächste Woche mehr. Heute ist noch Sonntag und ich muss meine weiteren guten Momente dieser Woche noch suchen, um sie in mein Notizbuch einzutragen. Die Socken bekommen auf jeden Fall einen Platz dort und auch noch ein Tuch, das endlich fertig geworden ist, doch ich kann's heute noch nicht zeigen, das es zu dunkel für Fotos war. Meine alten Projekte werden weniger und ich freue mich schon darauf, dass ich bald ein neues anschlagen darf.

That's the name of the February special by Tausendschön. The socks have been warming my feet all day. The leftover yarn has moved to my wool basket to become part of my crochet leftover blanket which has reached a pleasant size by now. I will show more next week. Today is Sunday so I have pick my brain for the good moments of the past week in order to write them into my notebook. These socks will have a space in there and the scarf that I have finished but I cannot show photos today as it was too dark when it was off the needles. The number of my old projects is going down and I am looking forward to casting on a new one.

RUMS #07/16

Heute bin ich auch mal wieder bei RUMS dabei, denn es ist mal wieder etwas für mich fertig geworden. In diesem Jahr bin ich fleißig dabei, angefangene Projekte zu beenden und/oder Wolle aus dem Vorrat zu verstricken. Als dieser Mystery angekündigt wurde, habe ich lange mit mir gehadert, ob ich mitmachen soll, doch dann hat die Tatsache, dass ich Wolle, die ich schon lange im Vorrat hatte, endlich verarbeiten konnte den Ausschlag gegeben. Und so kommt es, dass ich ein Appletini- Tuch habe. Es passt zu einer Weste, die ich vor langer Zeit testgestrickt habe (Nutshell von janukke).

Today I am joining in RUMS as I have managed to finish something for myself. This year I am busy finishing my WIPs and/or using yarn from my stash. When this mystery was announced I had a long fight with myself whether I was allowed to take part but  then the fact that I would be knitting from stash won. This is why I now have a shawl called Appletini. It matches a vest that I have testknitted quite some time ago (Nutshell by janukke).

Kleine Flucht / A little escape

Gestern war schon so tolles Wetter, aber bevor ich rausgehen konnte oder überhaupt nur meine Pläne für den Nachmittag an der frischen Luft in der Sonne konkretisieren konnte, zeigte meine Tochter mir fiese, rote Punkte auf ihrer Haut, so dass ich den Nachmittag mit ihr zur Kinderärztin gefahren bin. Als es heute Morgen schon wieder so toll aussah, habe ich einfach die Chance genutzt und bin direkt vor der Arbeit in ein kleines Waldstück gegangen und habe mich an Schnee und Sonne gefreut. In dem Waldstück ist auch ein kleiner Aussichtsturm, auf den ich geklettert bin, allerdings waren die Stufen vereist, sodass es ganz schön gefährlich war. Die Idee hat sich als richtig gut erwiesen, da ich heute dann doch deutlich länger auf der Arbeit war als geplant.

We had such great weather yesterday (cold and glorious sunshine) but before I was able to go outside or even make some concrete plans about time spent outside in the sun my daughter showed me some serious red spots on her skin so that I took her to the doctor's yesterday afternoon. When I saw the same kind of weather this morning I sized the opportunity and stopped in a parking place on the edge of a forest on my way to work. I walked a little round and enjoyed the snow and the sun. There is a tower to climb which I did but it was pretty dangerous as the steps were icy. The idea to go there in the morning was brilliant as I had to stay at work longer than expected.

Zukünftig kreativ / Creative in the future

Als Jana im letzten Jahr ihren Blog-Geburtstag feierte, habe ich ganz arglos am Gewinnspiel teilgenommen, denn ich gewinne ja eh nix. Doch diesmal war es anders! Ich habe einen Gutschein für ein Testabo gewonnen. Das habe ich dann letzte Woche mal eingelöst und kann mir mal überlegen, wie ich damit kreativ werden will. So ganz sicher bin ich mir noch nicht. Aus der 6fach Sockenwolle könnte ich mir ein Tuch vorstellen, denn es ist gerade so kalt draußen ... Ein bisschen wird die Wolle noch warten müssen, denn ich bin gerade daran, den Appletini-Mystery-KAL an meine Wolle anzupassen, da kommen gerade einige Wiederholungen des Mustersatzes dazu, das wird ein richtig großes Tuch!

When Jana celebrated her blog's birthday last year I took part in her raffles as I don't win. Never. But this time it was different! I won a voucher for a parcel of yarn. I received my parcel last week and am thinking of how I want to use this yarn in a creative way. I am not quite sure. The thick sockyarn could be turned into a scarf, it is so cold outside ... The yarn will have to wait though as I am currently knitting the Appletini mystery scarf and I am making it bigger to use up all the yarn if possible so I am repeating the pattern again and again, I guess it will turn our really large.

Zurückgeblickt / Looking back

... auf diese Woche. Ich bin eigentlich ganz zufrieden, frage mich nur, ob ich es mal wieder übertrieben habe und mich vielleicht doch hätte krank melden sollen. Naja, bin ich halt am Sonntag krank und sage meinem Körper, das muss reichen. :-(( Außer an Regen kann ich mich an so viel gar nicht erinnern. Ich habe im Akkord das Logo auf meinen eTwinning-Pullover gestickt und bin heute fertig geworden! Eine Geburtstagstorte habe ich gebacken und mit vielen Jungs eine nette, aber auch laute (viele Handys) Party gefeiert. Meine Tochter hat ihr Seepferdchen gemacht und kann somit offiziell schwimmen und tauchen! Meine Wollvernichtungsaktion geht weiter und ergbit bestimmt ein schönes Tuch. Wenn nun über Nacht bei mir eine deutliche Besserung eintritt, ist eigentlich alles gut.

... on this week. I must say that I am quite satisfied but am asking myself if I have strained myself too much by not reporting sick by the end of the week. Well, this means I am ill on a Sunday and tell my body that this is all (s)he can get. :-(( I can't remember much apart from rain. I have been working hard on finishing the logo on my eTwinning sweater and managed to do so today! I made a birthday cake and celebrated with quite a large group of boys a nice but loud (so many smartphones) party. My daughter passed her swimming examination and gained the official sign for it. I am still knitting from stash and am positive to see a nice shawl soon. All I need now is a speedy overnight recovery and everything is well.
